Why an HR firm recruits doctors?
People Partner Co. started as an HR practice. Owners were running payroll off spreadsheets, writing employment contracts from templates they found online, and discovering CRA remittance rules after the deadline. They didn't need a full-time HR director. They needed someone senior, on call, who knew Ontario employment standards and could set the whole people function up properly and then keep it running.
Dental, orthodontic and specialist practices became a large part of that work — payroll and benefits for hygienists, coordinators and assistants, plus the hiring that goes with a growing team. The same question kept arriving from clients we already supported: we need an associate, can you help us find one? The candidate network was already there, and so was the understanding of how these practices are actually structured.
Associate doctor recruiting grew directly out of that. It is a genuinely different search — a small pool, often national, and a conversation about compensation structure, buy-in and career direction rather than a job description. We kept it as its own service, with its own process and its own inbox, precisely because it isn't staff hiring.
To be clear about the boundary: we support the people side. We do not run practice operations and we do not advise on clinical matters. Saying that plainly is a positioning decision, not a disclaimer — it means clients know exactly what they are getting, and what they still own.
